Hello all. What I have is a pristine, unopened 1926 E.D. Bullard Standard Oil of California cylindrical first aid canister—patent number 1,575,206. I have done a lot of research on this and I'm learning that it's a pretty special item. It's a safety kit manufactured by E.D. Bullard (the inventor of the hard hat) and specifically designed for Standard Oil of California, with these kits originally being mounted in the oil workers' trucks.
This specific design and patent revolutionized the industrial safety industry by introducing the "unit system." As I mentioned, the steel roll inside is completely unopened and untouched. Because of its unique setup, I'm thinking it might even be a pre-production prototype. I truly believe I am holding a piece of industrial history, and I just wanted to get some opinions on it! This isn’t really my wheelhouse, so I would love to hear from anyone who might know a bit more about this history.
