WW2 British and Nazi Canteens Battle Relics
Both of these items were originally found together, probably a war relic or a battlefield trophy taken by a British soldier. The Nazi canteen is in exceptional condition. Both are selling together in this lot.
This specific type of British canteen, often associated with the 1908 or 1937 Pattern Webbing equipment, typically features a khaki felt cover over a blue enameled metal bottle.
The cover, which was intended to be kept damp to help keep the contents cooler through evaporation. The bottle has a cork stopper that is attached to the neck by a short cord or chain.
