Hello All,

I do not have my literature from Ron yet but want to move forward on getting this blasted for epoxy primer...
On the air discharge side I'm going to plug the three outlets before blasting; however, I am curious to know if the part I am pointing to can be removed for further inspection/cleaning...?
A quick attempt told me to stop as it is very tight and I couldn't get it to loosen. Didn't want to break something; I stopped and figured I would ask...

Hello All,

I'm back and have another question regarding this ECO Tiremeter...

I have Ron's reproduction column/pedestal, drilled and tapped in factory locations for attaching my 37 onto the 38 pedestal... I thought the only major difference between the 37/38 is the back plate. The 37 has provisions for mounting to a pole whereas the 38 has a smooth back plate.

My real issue is getting the 1/4" copper tubing from inside the pedestal into the 37 head casting... As well as electric for the light socket...

I can provide photos if needed, but has anybody performed this conversion with positive results...?

Jim,you may find that the bottom of the 37 is not flat enough to mount on pedestal.You may have to grind 37 flat.Also your first pic shows the filter nut this can be backed out counter clockwise ,be careful taking it out because it has a strainer screen on it.Good luck Doug

Thank you for that tip! I did notice that and prepared both surfaces for a decent flat/level mount!
As for the filter nut & strainer, I left it along as it was very tight and figured I was getting good air flow...
When time permits, I'll post a photo or two of my progress...

Every thing has been painted and I mounted it to a wooden platform painted gray like some of the gas station islands used to be.
I'll be testing the air system as time permits; however, I was told by the gentleman I obtained the tire meter from that it was functioning when removed/replaced! We'll see...

Not sure if posting this question in my original post will get any answers...

Finally have a bunch of chrome pieces from various projects to send out for re-plating. Anyone have ANY issues with the clips for the upper/lower face plates that snap on falling off during the re-plating process...?
If so, what can I do to safely remove them prior to sending them out for re-chroming...?

Those upper and lower snap on pieces aren't chrome, they are stainless. They should polish out. Ron Scobie sells very nice repros.

I agree with you; these trim pieces are stainless; however, they show signs of being plated as well...
I leave instructions to see if they can be polished and if not satisfactory, nickel plate everything.
