Hello All,

Purchased a glass set w/ gasket material for the listed pump and found the glass too small by approx. 1/4" on the height and width. Once installed, if you could say that, the glass would fall out with very little pressure; come to think of it, it just wouldn't stay in the opening!
So correct me if I'm wrong, I measured out the gasket to the door opening and cut it to this length; to test, I installed the same length onto the actual glass and found the gasket to big by around 1" - 1 1/4"... Why such a large difference...? I reviewed the profile of the gasket and see there is an offset of dimensions between the door edge and window glass approx. 1/8" and that would equate to 1/4" difference in glass size compared to the actual opening! With that said, I would make the glass size 10"w X 15 7/16"h

Actual door opening: 9 3/4"w X 15 3/16" h ---> Actual glass size purchased: 9 3/4"w X 15 1/16"h

Can anyone confirm my math is wrong...?

Now onto the other issue of suggesting this glass size change to Andy DID NOT go favorably ! ! !


In conclusion, I appreciate anyone willing to make a suggestion; however, in my defense, this is not the first time I have done this, EXCEPT ordering the glass online! I usually get glass cut locally but opted for an online purchase to expedite the assembly process as my client is/was coming this weekend for pickup!

I just ordered a glass kit for a Tokheim 39 short from Ga Pump Heaven and it fit perfect . I put the rubber seal in first around the window and work the glass into the seal .It does take some patience , and I do have to take the door off the pump and lay it down on the floor or the carpet and work it in the groves to get in and get a tight seal .

I don't see what I'm doing wrong as I have done this many times before but with my measured glass cut locally. The glass I received will pass through the opening in the door and that to me is wrong!

Hi Jim ,I just measured a extra piece of glass that I have from Gas Pump Heaven and it is the same size as yours . So it sounds like you have the right size glass, , Unless your door is warp or not straight . There are some how to do video's on You tube on the subject that might help , But the ones I saw were not very good. Hope this help you little .

Perhaps this is my issue...

Almost every original gas pump glass, Tokheim 39 short anyway, I have removed over the years comes out from the back side of the door so I've always reinstalled new glass and gaskets from inside the door panel...
I'm having a local glass shop cut new glass based on my size and I'll post back...

Finished things up and had to go the Vics for the replacement gasket and correct sight glass trim rings... Andy at GPH actually told me to cut notches in my nice original porcelain faces in order to utilize his reproduction trim rings... I don't think modifying a nice original part to fit a reproduction part is a practice I recommend ! ! !

At the end of the day, I had local glass cut to my dimensions, which are slightly bigger that the glass supplied by GPH, installed and have a nice snug proper fit!

The take away or lesson for me is that Andy at GPH did not want to assist in figuring out what this issue was for me, perhaps they sent the wrong glass, maybe someone accidentally cut a few pieces small; but no, only that I should not never call back or do business with him again.

He won't have to worry nor will I ever recommend their service ! ! !
