Apparently according to the sign under the 66 logo on the pole... it's the World's only Frank Lloyd Wright designed gas station!!! You can see it in the style of the overhang. I wonder where that was station is located. I live in IL... there are quite a few buildings I've seen designed by Wright as well as a grade school girl I knew lived in one of his historic houses in my childhood town. Very impressive work

I wonder where that was station is located. I live in IL. The Frank Lloyd Wright designed gas station is in Cloquet, MN, just west of Duluth. When I visited, the station was still open for business and you could go up the stairs to the overlook lounge. While you're there, take Route 61 up the North Shore of Lake Superior. Appreciate the information on the where about of the building.. there's a very good chance I will be in that area one day & as a road-trip lover I will be sure to ride up RT 61.... I haven't circled around Lake Superior yet, it's on the bucket list. Luv a good road, always a window to the world
