Happy New Year to all! A couple of New Years that were important to me.End of the year in 1954 the destroyer i was on docked in Norfolk Va.I Hitch hiked to S/w Iowa,made it in 32 hours,the last couple that picked me up 20 miles east of Carroll Iowa on Hwy. 30 went out of their way and took me right to my home in Ross Iowa.I made it to my girlfriends house at about midnight and Pat and i were engaged that night.We were married in June of 1955,still are!
New years eve of1970,New Years Resolution to quit smoking,only one i ever made and kept it.May be why i am still alive at 89 years old.Shooting for Jan.30th and will be 90.Truly blessed!
