I was looking at the same sign the other night during the sale... I've never seen another one... rare but not far from trashed unfortunately. They had a Mohawk Tire Sign that was in the very same shape.
Yes there were a lot of pieces that were in poor shape. I ended up purchasing the sign I posted. I think I gave 2 bucks for it. My brother is friends with the auctioneer and picked it up for me. That saved me on shipping.
I was thinking that it might be WW2 ration related, but I haven't found anything to back that up. Any help would be great.
