As it was related to me, the expert who says this is a reproduction pointed out some details of the yellow portions of the horse-and-rider portion of the lenses. Is there a definitive image showing what a "real" lens looks like? How can it be proven that that image is not of a reproduction?
What does one look for on the back of (presumably out-of-body) lenses to determine authenticity?
When did reproductions of gasoline-pump globes start to appear?
