This is called a Cities Services kite sign. I sold one in grade 9 condition, at auction ten years ago for in the area of $5,000. I agree with the value of $200. in that shape. Paul www.severngaspumps

Shame about condition, but still a "Kool" app. 90-95 year old sign.

I don’t trade signs that much because of all the fakes and prices in the stratosphere of late. That being said, I would think that this sign would be worth a lot more than $200 in today’s market. Not to me necessarily, but I see signs every day that are way more common and in way worse condition than this one selling for way more than that. If I was a Cities Service collector I would be all over this at $200! I paid $500 a while back for a rare Skelly triangle curb sign in a rusty frame that had some bullet holes and one side that was almost gone. I bought it because I doubt I’ll ever see another and one side displayed fairly well. I paid too much for it in my opinion but it fit my collection so I just bought it. Never underestimate the selling power of “patina” in this day and age!!….
