Does anyone have knowledge of "Pyramid Oil co" I saw a very old tin painted sign I would estimate from the 20's. Shows a Pyramid, Camel and 2 palm trees. Very weathered but still neat. Never heard of the co. There is a modern Pyramid oil from Bakersfield Ca but I doubt it is the same co. Thanks George

Sorry for the poor photo quality, but my camera SUCKS..... (I'll delete that if I need to) If your talking about this Pyramid Oil Company, they do nothing other than drill for and pump oil, then sell it to whoever buys it. They have never had a "Retail" marketing operation. There was a Pyramid company in New Jersey though. http://www.gassigns.org/pyramid.htm BTW this is a 1922 stock certificate. I do find these on occasion, if anybody is interested..... Lets see a pic of the sign. If you cant post it, e-mail it to me and I'll post it for you.....

Steve, I am really interested to see what you concerning Pyramid Oil Company, located Minneapolis, MN. My wife's Great Grandfather owned this company. I've attached an article that I found as well as some of the logo's. His name was William Jacobson, he owned it with his brother and had other family members working as well. My wife's mother remembered going to the office and her Grandfather giving her a cases of oil to keep her car running, guess the car was pretty old and burned more oil than gas. You can see the building still, it is 2424 SE University Ave. MPLS, MN. you can still see some of the signage that was painted on the building. They did have some stations, as I found an article about Pyramid building a station in Austin MN. I don't think they had many stations, as they did more distribution.

I've collected a lot information on Pyramid over the years. I'll try to put together a synopsis of the history I have when I have a chance. Here are some are a few items for your viewing pleasure. The photo is from the MN historical society.
