We inherited this family owned pump since around 1945.. We have seen PLENTY of blue Sunoco stuff but NONE in a white with blue lettering scheme ? We have been told they are there but we have NO info on them..
Can anyone help with timeframe,origin,rarity... anything ??

Wow! That second posting really takes me back to my beginnings! Not that I don't still, but back then I was driving people crazy with my questions.
Anyway, Rob. I doubt anyone can give exact specifics as to the date of this lens unless you pull it out and find some markings on it.
There are some things that can be looked at. The main one is what I believe are called "serif's". The small tails of the letters. Most notably at the top of the "U" and on the "N".
This envelope (which I've cropped to make it bigger for you) is from 1935 and it has the serif's on the Sunoco font. As do most, if not everything from the era or earlier.
In this advertisement (from the war time 40's and this 1941 calendar (both cropped) do not have the serif's. And you basically never see them again in Sunoco logo's. So the presence of the serif's place this lens at least right into or before the era your pump was made.
If not broken, this is a $70 to $120 dollar piece of glass. depending on the day and whos bidding. Broken, well, quite a bit less.

Many look when there is a new topic to learn about things they do not know about, so having a few hundred views and no answer would not be unusual either.

In general if a question goes five days to a week with no answer,(as some on here don't check in every day or even every week), that is usually when folks ask again.

Patience is a virtue when you are trying to get free information.

Both questions asked the same day? I suggest that you be patient. Most of us work for a living and check in late in the day. The blue sunoco ad glass with white background was used from the 30's upto and around the late 1950's when they switched to the yellow and blue. The earliest just said sunoco like Steve's picture and there were versions that just said dynafuel as well. I collect sunoco so if you want pictures let me know.

Hello. I'm back (I also have to work a job) I'm sorry, if me saying that offended anyone or was taken as an expectation for someone to answer.. Truthfully I belong to a few forums where answers vary greatly. So I wasn't worried about timing, You all and others have seemed very kind and helpful and honestly fairly swift in their reply. So I was sort of thinking that all these friendly folks are shaking their head and saying, New guy !!
I read already on a post where a gentleman made a lot of enemies through a passionate discussion about Pump in or out.. DO NOT GO THERE !!
Point is.. I'm here to learn and went from 0 knowledge to having a whole new appreciation for the history of these pumps. But I'm not here to ruffle feathers.. So if I'm asking to much too fast.. cool. And I'll watch the comments..
But I must say you guys and gals have shown me a lot already either directly or indirectly through here So I thank you.

Very cool Steve C. Thank you. Through all of the replies I've learned a lot about this. We are going to keep this in the family and restore it all so that our kids may do with it as they wish..Probably sell it !! But I'll be dead of old age by then.. So oh well..
We are just trying to nail down originality So that we can restore it to the same state.. Again you have all been great..
