Less risk mounted upside down in properly secured globe rings, than displaying the globes on a shelf without rings.
There was a restaurant about 30 miles from my home that had globes displayed upside down for 30+ years without any problems.
Having said that, I wouldn't display any globes that way unless I had a very high ceiling.
