I was telling DB the other day that although there is a lot to complain about Ebay if you are a seller, I'm sure glad there are protection plans in place now for the buyers. Years ago before buyer's protection, I was in a similar situation with a $700 piece of Roseville pottery. The vase I received was definitely NOT the piece shown in the auction. When brought to the seller's attention, he added insult to injury by accusing me of a "bait and switch" tactic. Needless to say I still have that $700 POS vase to remind me of the "old days" of buying at your own risk, and hoping if something was wrong you had an HONEST understanding seller to deal with!
