I don't blame anyone for not taking pictures to post. Look at threads where pictures have been posted of shows & there are more posts asking who had this sign/globe/can/item & wanting contact info.
I quit & I know several others have quit taking pictures to post for that reason.

Well ok then, another good reason not to post on here.

db,

I am a BIG FAN of pictures of any show. Yes, I have enjoyed all the photos posted here per show since I joined the site back in 2008.
I find them educational as well as to see what is out there.

Now, if this helps a buyer & seller to make a deal via photos, I feel is a plus to this site as well as the hobby!

In case of Fred's this year, I got there late again 1:00 PM on Friday & as usual ... everyone is leaving!
It did not give me a chance to take photos while I am busy looking for that piece (are you kidding me, ask Jeremy he was there at 6:0 AM) LOL!

It is also worth mentioning that Mike (strnge) was not able to make it this year. Mike has provided great photos of the show in the past.

I took a few & I will post them soon. Just been real busy ...

My- 2-cents-worth!

I second that, Hen, and look forward to your photos. I enjoy seeing what is available on the "other" side of the country.

I would just like to see them also, but looks like as other meets now, we just are not going to get them. Sad.

My camera screwed up DB, it only made a short video. My settings got moved in the truck when it was in the glove box. Had some good shots of some of the swap meet too. Portland, Just stayed in the booth and tried to sell. Low and behold the buying was at the end and the next two weeks as usual.

Yes, Hen They have posted great pictues and it is very good for reference. I do understand Dick's position though as I am guilty of asking who had what and how much. I just do not want to lug my heavy stuff to swap meets so far away. At least Portland is just 1 mile from my house.

Out of curiosity did anyone actually enjoy Fred Stokes gas bash?
From what I hear this is or was the premiere get together on the west coast. I have not had the privilege to attend this event but I am not seeing a lot of positive comments here. Some stuff about theft, hours and not wanting to post pictures for fear of someone asking questions about them.
I would think that everybody at least the west coasters on here would praise the event.
Fred and Lynne make their home, shop, displays and property available and open to the public and create a venue for everybody in their unique setup for everyone to get together.
To me Fred is "Drag Racing Royalty" as well as a # 1 host. And from what I know has the largest darn can collection around.
Like I said I wasn't there for this event but my hats go off to Fred and Lynne for putting it on.
So if you have something positive to say put it on here, and post some of those pictures...I promise that I won't personally ask any questions but just enjoy seeing them.

This posting will probably get some interesting comments back, but the good ones about the Stokes Gas Bash might even get back to those gracious hosts.

Cheers!

This show was great as always, Fred, Tom and Lee do a great job and Kenny and Steve are gracious hosts to their homes and collections! This years turn out was very good. Participation is the key to any successful show and I encourage people to attend this show either as seller or buyer or both. Everyone I talked to bought and sold well. I was so busy selling in my booth that unfortunately I had no time to take pictures. The only negative was the theft of several items from vendors. Looking forward to next years show already!

We had a great show, thanks to everyone. I posted on the old thread a photo of Kens seaside pump sign. The [ Fred's gas bash still on ] thread. Someone else posted some photos from the show on that thread also. Maybe those posts can be moved forward to this new thread and more people will see the photos.
