My grand mother, who was widowed in 1908, built the first gas station in Fredericksburg in 1917. My father started as a Pure distributor some time in the 1930's. Pure left Texas in 1938 or so and he went with Conoco. In 1963, my father put up the Fina sign at a station that was built in 1957. The Fina sign was up for 49 years continually until last year. Fina became Alon. I have been collecting old vehicles for years. But gas station kind of fit in with old vehicles. And all I have ever known all my life is gas stations. I stumbled on the site through a Google search.
