Hi everybody. I am new to this forum and to the restoration of gas pumps. I have an Erie 753 that I bought locally in Fairbanks Alaska. It is in very good condition. The first question I have is how the clock faces mount to the outer panel. Is there a gasket or is it just a tension fit by pushing the assembly outward from the inside of the pump? Well, you have me confused with your question? The faces should attach to the clock assembly with 3 small screws. You must have bought this pump unassembled? The clock meter assembly should be attached to a plate on the inside of the pump and there would be 2 large round castings that fill the openings in the pump. The clock mechanism is contained within this casting and the faces are screwed to it! I'll try to find a picture for you!

Thanks for the picture. My clock assembly is fully assembled just as the one pictured. How does this fully assembled piece fit up to the outer sheet-metal of the pump. Is there a gasket, or does the cast ring protrude slightly through the 10 hole without a gasket? My assembly is recessed back slightly from the outer pump housing, but I think I can loosen the set screw on the shaft that joins the two face assemblies and widen it out so it butts up against the sheetmetal. Am I on the right track? Thanks, Bryan

Hhmmm? I don't think it can be widened. I'm going on memory here but I think the distance is fixed. Maybe someone else can comment on that? The outer part of the casting should protrude slightly thru the sheet metal. No gasket or retainer. Heres a closeup of the face in place behind the sheet metal.
