This is exactly the kind of feedback that I was hoping for Don. I collect antique cars from 1910 to 1940 and I am a stickler for going the extra mile to ensure authenticity.
This pump will be in the garage with the cars so I want it to be correct also. I like the solid colour 1929 to 1931 pump you showed although I am not familiar with the shade of green you are referring to. The second visible pump I plan on doing as Irving Primrose and I do have an almost perfect Ioka Irving Porcelain oil rack to go with it.
Now I just have to spend time on the pumps rather than the cars.

Thanks, glad I could help. I have included a couple of colour photos for you to visualize the green. The visible pump and porcelain oil jar rack are from a 1930 Imperial Oil map. The other photo is of my tin 8-jar oil rack and porcelain 16-jar oil rack. Ignore the colour on the legs of the 8-jar rack for they have been redone. This should give you some idea of the green that they used back then. Cheers, Don.

...between the map image and the period photos, it looks like red globe body and pump dome, red 'cylinder base', green skins and black base? should be a striking pump when finished...it's always nice to see someone go the extra mile to ensure the history is preserved (and not distorted) over time...please post pics before/during/completed pics of your Imperial pump restoration...

In the pump image gallery there are two clear vision pumps decked out as Don described. Just search Imperial.

Thanks for all the great input everyone. I am now very
comfortable that the pump will be restored authentically
and will look great.
That being said,the restoration will have to wait until Spring as
I leave for Florida soon. I'll be back when the snow leaves.
Pictures will come as the restoration progresses, although I guess I can post the
"as is" pictures now.
