We'll post a photo of the can opener over the weekend. What kind of can is it? Most of the ones we have seen with that kind of opening are Tydol cans.

I had a Veedol that was opened like that and wondered why also. Never thought of asking though.

Here are some photos of the can opener. Its really more of a weapon than anything else. There are 3 threaded bolt holes areound the edge of the opener and I assume it bolted into a funnel of some sort.

We to had always wondered what kind of tool made such huge holes in the top of some Tydol cans. We were walking around at the Iowa Gas Show and a friend of ours showed the item to us and asked what it was. I immediately knew that the mystery had been solved! I told him what it was for and he then proceeded to give the item to us. You just gotta love the Gas Shows and the great people that you get to know by going!

Wow,

You would think that without some kinda funnel that center piece would have displaced a lot of oil causing a big mess.

Took me years to find them but I have two of these oil dispensers. It looked small so I tried multiple cans, although you could get them in with some force my Tydol and Veedol cans fell right in with no struggle leading me to believe that these cans were made smaller specifically so these can dispensers could be used only for these cans.. But that's just my opinion.
