1. As I'm removing trim and other pieces from the door the mounting holes are just disintegrating. How am I going to get these mounted again? I'm being as gentle as possible.
2. Do I need to sandblast the inside of the pump? Or is POR-15 ok? Not the inside of the panels but the main pump supports.
Ok, 3 questions.
3. The bottom of 2 of my 4 vertical braces are completely rusted away. I'm thinking I will have to take this somewhere to have the affected area cut out and a new piece of angle iron welded in. Correct?

The pump is a Bowser 575.

Every pump has it's own problems/solutions, some will work on others & some are Unique to that model.

If the metal in the doors is so rusted that the holes are enlarging as you work on them......you are going to have to replace the metal.....cut and weld... then redrill the holes. There is very little reason to putty up metal, hoping that you can get by. You will for a very short time before the whole thing falls apart. If your frame supports are rotted away, then they too will need to be rebuilt. Doesn't matter what type of pump as all these concerns are basic and should be addressed on each restoration. There is a learning curve on rebuilding pumps and you are currently in the beginners class. Good luck, Paul www.severngaspumps.com

It's not the door panel holes rusting away, its the mounting holes on the back of the aluminum trim. Looks like a screw used to go into a slot. That slot is gone when I unscrew from the back. I'll try and post pictures late.
And for the supports, I figured that.
