I call this “Tom’s Pump” after my good friend who passed way too soon Tom Hilliker “SOCONYGUY” He hosted a post and I used to do the Sign Of the Month. I finally got the bottom sign attached properly. He was helping me piece this together when he passed away. I saved his last texts to me. After he passed it way just too hard to look at this pump, let alone complete it. I researched the proper signs for the pump, and man were they hard to find in good condition!! It literally took years to find them. The globe was another story. I couldn’t afford a period globe, but Pergl was awesome to deal with on lenses. Maybe someday I can put a period globe on this. We shared a passion for SOCONY being from Upstate NY. So hard to find these in nice condition. He conversed with me about the Mobil Globes, both original from the same local gas station. Not the most desirable, but they bring back fond memories whenever I look at them. I miss you my friend.

….and why are these so hard to find in nice condition?? I’m guessing the weather in the Northeast and how old these are. Pre date visibles.

Very nice example of a rare pump that started the whole "pump" thing!
