Here's a NOS example of a very colorful, affordable gas globe. It's an INDEPENDENT GASOLINE, with ETHYL on its original wide body. The lenses are still caulked in. The wide body has the unique bevel at the bottom, as seen in the photos. This globe is from INDEPENDENT Oil in Tulsa, Oklahoma. It's a 1928-1930 vintage. INDEPENDENT was later sold to Phillips Petroleum. Please disregard any "spots" of white in the photos. Those are just reflections from near-by lights. Again, this is an NOS gas globe.
