Hello All,

First and foremost, may everyone have a safe and Happy New Year Celebration ! ! !

My dilemma is a simple one that has frustrated me to the point of anger and possible damage to something!
I am not an expert but have some familiarity with gas pumps; however, I cannot remove the reset handle ! ! !
With the set screw remove, the handle just spins on the shaft... I have already put two long dents in the panel from bracing with 2x4 wood and prying it off to no avail...
I tried removing the pin in the opposite end of the shaft, again no real success...

Any suggestions are greatly appreciated...

Use a die grinder or Dremel to cut the push pin that is holding the spring onto the shaft. The reset will come out. Drill out the pin and replace with a new one when you put it back together. Regards, Paul

I agree with Paul, remove the pin, BUT those are taper pins. They are slightly larger in diameter on one side than the other. Look closley at it and determine the smaller side. Tap gently on the small side with a hammer, and it should slide out. Once it reaches the shaft pull it out with plyers.

Do not use a torch on the reset crank. They are zinc and melt easily.

Cut-off wheel/die grinder took no time at all on the pin! Drilled to 5/32 for using 3/4" tension pin. Project can move forward now!

...I’m having the same trouble, but with the reset crank on an older Tokheim 39 tall, with a cast iron base...like Jim, I got the set screw out, without difficulty...now, the crank spins around the shaft on which it’s still inexplicably attached, but I can’t get it off the shaft...any pointers would be appreciated...

I cut the pin off inside that goes into the meter and slid out the complete shaft with handle attached then you could figure out what why the handle isn't coming off the shaft.
