Here's the perspective from a child's view, "We are all in this hobby for the same reason";
* To learn
* To be informed
* To participate whenever we can
I hate to see oldgassers that I admire and know have a lot to add to our obsessions but do the "quibble thing".
Let us all grow thicker skin and not get into gunfights!!
If a member says something to me (or us) that can be taken as adversarial, let's think "CONSTRUCTIVE CRITISIM" and not feel that we must draw a line that separates oldgassers.
Bottom line, EACH oldgasser is a good guy that wants to enhance our hobby.
PLEASE, LET US ALL GET ALONG!! when something is said that may be taken as negative, let us re-examine the statement and consider it as constructuve critisism, not low blows!
The same kind rhetoric destroys churchs in our society and I feel churches are as "rock of Gibralter" as you can get.
My skin is thick, I hope your skin is thick, if not, please thicken it up a notch or two!!!!!
The way I see it, any bickering on oldgas takes away from this site which in turn takes away from our hobby which in turn takes away from our lives.
Agree or not, this is the gospel!
I will never forget a quote that an old fellow gave me 20 years ago. This man was a veteran of WWI and WWII, ran a small general store afterwards and was known as a guy that everyone trusted. My father had always admired this fellow for his character and his philosophies, he told me "If something good will not come from a statement then do not make the statement". He is 100% right!

I agree my friend and yet I'm not aware of the problem you talk about. I too SIMPLY asked once why I could not get an answer to something and others were swarmed with answers. I unfortunately started an uproar that I did not intend. Lets expect nothing and appreciate all. Larry

You're absolutely right Neal! We have nearly 2000 registered users. Nearly all are positive. Hopefully the few guys that make negative comments will turn over a new leaf!

Huh??!! What's the problem? All the posts and replies that I've seen have been kind and helpful. So where's the fire, and what's this all about?

If some Politically-Correct person has misinterpreted something that someone wrote, I say don't even react to that....after all, it's very PETTY!

DL, and other fellow oldgassers, everything is cool! I probably shouldn't have put this post on here last night because these small skirmishes are usually gone before I or we even know what happened.

Look at it like this, you can put 100 of the greatest straightest finest people together in a room for a day and within a few hours there WILL be a disagreement or two by day's ends.
Now imagine several thousand people that frequent a website, there's going to be a few people that have a little friction build up now and then, that's only normal.

Sometimes I try to be an agressive peacemaker but usually find out that these little fires go out on their own fairly quickly if left alone.

I'm probably like an overprotective mother hen when it comes to our oldgas website. It's a great site and I want it to be perfect but I later realize nothing's perfect. I will say though that oldgas.com, it's members and the hobby it supports is as close to perfect as possible! After thinking about this post I believe that I am the one that needs to grow some thicker skin!!

To a brighter note; IT'S THE WEEKEND, GO OUT AND FIND SOME PUMPS!!!! FIND SOME CANS!!!!! FIND SOME SIGNS!!!!
