I just picked up this pump, Is this a 766?

The hole pattern is the same on both doors. It’s like there was a diagonal ad plate bolted to the door.

Yes it is a 766. Those holes were not factory. Someone drilled those at some time

Thanks, that’s kind of what I figured but since the holes were a match on both doors I thought maybe it was specific to one brand.

Those holes are for a plastic Super Shell sign. There should be more holes below them in a square pattern for the plastic Shell sign.

Yes!
There are 4 more holes beneath. Do you have a photo of what it should look like?

Just doing a quick search with the vendors, it doesn't look like those are reproduced anymore. Do these ever become available or are they impossible to find?

Good detective work Matt.

John, the bottom 4 holes are for a plastic pump plate (like Matt pointed out). Originals pop up often for sale and they aren’t expensive. They also used decals of the same design, if you want to go that route.

-Steve B. (WTB: 48" Flying A button, 48" black/org Phillips 66, White Star, and Chevrolet Signs. Also looking for a Wayne 866. Send a PM. Thanks.)

I have art for all those decals - even the oval at the bottom.

Give me a call if you want to go that route.

Later . . .
