Here is a building I saw in recent travels in St. Elmo, TN, near Chattanooga. It may not have been a gas station, but that completely paved front, corner lot and big garage door make it look like it could be to me. What do you think?

Came across this step back in time on Saturday.
No pics of inside but it still had the whole tobacco store/gas stop setup with the shelves with brand names across them,,, it was amazing to come across!!

Did this trip last fall in the Maritime provinces and came across this nice re-creation of a station

We just got back from a road trip along the southern shore of Lake Superior. Here are a few shots I saw on the back roads of western U.P. Michigan and northern Wisconsin.

A "76" sign that was repainted for a generic brand. Now that most of the paint is word off, the 76 is left crooked

That's funny Jim...last year this time I ate at the other location in Duluth. I didn't even know the place has old sign decor until I walked in. Nice signs.

Would you approach these folks about their painted over gas station sign?

Pretty cool graphics. I think they intend on keeping it. If you're going to ask, be sure to not make 'em upset.

Old gas station in Jerome, AZ. Now a store.

Old Standard station in Albion Michigan I ran across .

TN, foundation is to the left.

Magnolia Petroleum Company right near the railroad tracks in Amarillo, Texas. A roofing company operates out of this building now.

Old car dealership building on a steep mountainside in the copper mining town of Jerome, Arizona. The vintage photo shows a wooden ramp that took cars to a basement service department. The antique car elevator holding a 1936 Plymouth was used in this building to lower cars to a sub-basement auto service level. I love the old car front and rear clips on a pole in front of the building.

The building now houses several antique dealers, a music shop, a steampunk art vendor and the town post office. After the copper mine closed down in the 1950s, the town now hangs on as a cool tourist destination.

I've noticed a vacant porcelain panel gas station on a main street in Verona, Wisconsin in recent years. I had hoped that the old building wouldn't get torn down. Last week when I passed by I was happy to see that it was all fixed up into a coffee, ice cream cafe joint called "Icki Sticki."

I drove by this station today. Panhandle Gas Station in Plainview, Tx. You have to look closely at the front panel of the canopy but PANHANDLE is there.

Magnolia Petroleum Co in Amarillo, Tx. This building was built in 1919 seen at the right side of the photo under the upstairs windows.

Here’s a 23 year old FATW I saw on a bike ride, probably Oregon.

Looks like that gas pump is valiantly trying to hold up the roof of that old station building.

This old Mobil station is in Quitaque, TX. .

Not a station, but came upon this in a small town in Illinois

We did a "Home Town" vacation this year and I came across this station in a small town in Kansas. I was shooting a photo of the island lights when Lowel came out and asked what I was doing. After a bit of chatting, we realized our grandfathers were brothers so he relaxed. He said, "Lots of folks come by here and try to steal my stuff." Turns out it used to be a Skelly Station and he collects Skelly stuff. I later found out that he gives full service to the widows in town. I wouldn't have guessed that the pumps still worked, but I guess they do. - Jack J.
