I'm going to start my 1st thread with details on old Texaco patches. Here are photos of 4 different Texaco uniform patches. These shirts are NOS but with different styles of patches. Trying to figure out what year, or any information when they were made and any info on dates that the patches changed. I have a rectangle patch but I will have to add that later. I also have question on the Trust patch. I have some that the word Texaco is a fine stitch and some that are a thicker stitch. Is there a significance in that? I will add the rectangle and trust patches later.
A. Circle Texaco patch. R with a circle around it. This measures 2.5 inches
B. Circle Texaco patch. R with a circle around it but smaller. This measures 2.5 inches
C. Circle Texaco patch Reg T.M. This measures 2.5 inches
D. Circle Texaco patch. Reg T. M. smaller uniform patch. This measures 2.25 inches. This patch is on a short sleeve shirt if that makes a difference.

As I am reviewing this, I am also seeing that the T is even with the star on picture 1.

Here are the "trust' photos. The thinner design came from the shirt circle Texaco with Reg T.M. marked on it. The thicker came from the rectangle Texaco patch shirt. I am assuming that patch changed with they changed the design from circle to rectangle.

the cleanest "centered star" circle patch would be "C"

IMO- A, B & D are sloppy & don't look right .. ... cool

Probably different patch manufacturers with different licensing agreements with Texaco.

From Google search:

The TM symbol can generally be used by any person or business to indicate that a particular word, phrase or logo is intended to serve as an identifier for the source of that product or service. The R symbol indicates that this word, phrase or logo is a registered trademark for the product or service.

The round Texaco logo was used until 1965 when it was replaced with the 6 sided logo that was used until 1982.

In 1959 the Texas Company changed its name to Texaco Inc. .. ... cool

in 1959 Texaco went from the "reg. T.M." too the "circle R"

The long-running "Trust your car to the man who wears the star" advertising campaign began in 1962 and a hexagon version of our logo was introduced in 1963.

Thanks for the responses. Copy on the hexagon instead of rectangle. Thanks for the 1959 info. I have a bank bag with just The Texas Company printed on it with no Texaco emblem. So at least it is pre-1959.
