I was interested to see in Gilmore's photo of the Socony-Vacuum General station the small Pegasus sign attached to the brick building near the driveway. I sure wish I knew what material it was made of. I've seen the small reproduction/fantasy signs of the same design on Ebay for a few years now, but was not aware that there was an original sign of similar design back in the day. That's why it's so great to study these old station photos, you see items you were not aware existed. It boggles my mind sometimes to see all of the advertising in one photo and say to myself, there's $500...there's a $2500 sign today, haha.

I just want to take a moment and thank those (Metro Petro, advertologist and Gilmore to name just a few) taking the time to post all the pictures of old gas stations. One of my favorite threads and something I visit almost daily. Great information in each photo!

The Unoco logo on the front left pump is rarely seen in old photographs. I’ve only seen one other.
Globe isn’t the prettiest Union globe.
