Saw set on Worthpoint and later on EBay...1) are they original or fake? 2) how were they mounted with “boxed” shape and holes in top and bottom? Anyone know? Any help appreciated!
Thanks!
Steve

I’m not sure on authenticity, but mounting something like that is easy. They just attach a 3/4 x 3/4” piece of wood (that’s less wide than the sign) to the wall on the top and bottom and then screw the sign down into it. Angle iron would also work.

“They just attach a 3/4 x 3/4” piece of wood (that’s less wide than the sign) to the wall on the top and bottom and then screw the sign down into it.”

Was this common? I was wondering if this “method of installation” is evidence of their authenticity or being fake?

I have no idea of their authenticity. You just asked how something like that would’ve been mounted. Similar to a coke button if the bracket wasn’t there. Just mount wood or angle iron to the wall on the inside of the sign.

The font scares me on these signs, looks like modern Helvetica, but hard to say.

I highly doubt they are fake. Who would go to the trouble to make such a complicated to fab fake.
The question is, are they original Pure signs?
One issue is the shape of the R

Also, If the Pure logo's are decals, I would stay away!
