Working on my 60, which didn't come with deco globe holder. What needs to be done to top for proper fitting?

Can you put the two shoulders on too see what it looks like. Those tops will spring open if not secured.

I had the top on pump. It doesn't spring out at all, maybe 1/8". I was thinking of that but if I attach holder to top the gap is way to much.

Are both parts original?

The top is but the holder is repo I believe. The top only has a 3/4' inch hole on the top of bend.

You need about a 5" hole in the top sheet metal for the deco globe holder to mount properly. Cut it first in poster board then use that to mark your sheet metal. Once it fits properly, mark and drill the two mounting screw holes.

I’ve never used one of those aftermarket Art Deco 60 globe holders. [edit]

Maybe return it and try a different supplier.

Morgan is correct. You have to make the hole larger using a temp plate. Richard

When I searched different suppliers I came across something on Vics 66 parts list. Apparently they are suggesting a bigger hole also. Thanks guys!

Oh, I see what you guys are saying. If the hole was bigger, it will drop in there better.

I have one I have to do the same thing to (that’s why I’m following this - have never done it either). Good to know. Great knowledge guys. Thanks

I also edited my message above.
