That lable doesn't match the 'age' of the top.

Possible wrap?

Later . . .

Although Facebook isn't my favorite, there is a good conversation about this can over there and there are MANY differences from a real one that someone posted. I'm not going to mention them all here, but the conversation is on the "Oil Can Collector's Group" page. Several differences.

I am not an “oil can” collector but would older cans have the embossed “SAE 30”?

Most people on Facebook are writing it off as Fake. Several reasons, but here are two simple ones.... the center line on the hat is completely different if you zoom in, and the spacing of the letters on the back.

I am by no means a can expert, and I don’t know one way or the other. I’m just pointing out what others said.

when I was young I was told by a wise old man explaining the stock market too me that "the majority of the people do the wrong thing"

what he was getting at was "do your homework & make your own decisions" - I think the same apply's here.. .. ... cool

The winning bidder may have to wait for their second stimulus check to arrive before making payment!

The Gilmore embossed tops are my favorite. The actual gilmore lettering is top shelf.
