What are you using to keep track of your collection - besides memory or an Excel spreadsheet??

It's been about seven years ago (wow!) - a then new member from Australia (Username Bugs) posted about a new database driven software for petroliana collectors. I have sent a PM to the one user who said he had used it back then. It looks very powerful - perhaps even more data than I need or am willing to input for each item? Currently I have about ten data columns with different info....

Here is a link to the Petroliana Collector Database program: http://databasebase.webs.com/petrolianadatabase.htm

Does anyone else have experience with this software, or an alternate program please? I'm looking at options other than Excel. A quick google search turned up Icollect, Sort-it, and Primasoft? There was also a post here on Oldgas many years ago about a NMCollect petroliana version? It would be great if it could be used with Iphone/Ipad too - which as of 7 years ago - the Australian program did not offer, nor did NMCollector.

Appreciate any user experience or suggestions are much appreciated. thanks

I got an email today from Collectibles Insurance Services that included a link to their blog with a mention of collection inventory software. The paragraph is quoted below along with links.

https://collectinsure.com/blog/4-tips-for-improving-your-collection

"Having an inventory of your collection is crucial – especially in the event that you have to make a claim. One easy way is to take photographs of each item or a video of your collection, making sure that you capture all markings that authenticate the items.
Another way is to catalogue your collection! This could be as simple as creating a spreadsheet that lists each item and its respective value, or there are tools that can help you – especially if your collection is on the larger side. Collectify™ offers extensive cataloguing software and allows you to store receipts and warranties, track auction prices, and email reports. CaptureMyAssets™ offers a complete approach to documenting your collectibles, including an asset management system. And finally, Collector Systems is a cloud-based collectibles management system with unlimited storage."

I insure my collection with Collectibles Insurance Services, but I'm not involved with the company as a referral agent.

Jim what is the cost if I might ask, as every collection is going to be different on how many, what kind, where and how stored.

The yearly cost of my policy is less than 1% of the declared total value of the collection, covered for losses at home, at a show or in shipping. CIS is a broker, not the insurer.
