You probably know this already. There should be a stamped date (1932?) on the bottom of the "100% Pure Pennsylvania Oil" logo; not sure how many years it was produced?

Do you know which is the older version? The straight line or the one with a peak and more of a border?

I have the one on the left (with the peak and "PERMIT - No. 50") and always thought it was the oldest version, however I'm not sure? Mine isn't dated and the stamp reads, "PROPERTY OF QUAKER STATE OIL REF. CO - BALTIMORE ENAMEL, 200 FIFTH AVE. N.Y.". Hopefully, someone more knowledgeable will chime in.

Version with the peak and more ornate writing...1930's. Yours... 1940's.

If you go by the images in the Quaker State ads, which you can find on eBay, the sign with the serif typeface is only used until 1931. The sans serif or block lettering sign with Certified - Guaranteed runs from 1932 to 1945. In 1946 they dropped the Certified - Guaranteed slogan. My two porcelain signs are stamped Baltimore Enamel N.Y. and are both quite heavy. There are a few later variation signs which are quite common and less desirable. Cheers, Don.
