So it's been about 4 1/2 years that I've been in the hobby and here is the start of my first resto. Since lossing the love of my life Melissa, (Oh how I miss her so bad), so I've had to find things to occupy my mind. So here we go.
From what I've run across so far, I could not have picked/found an easier pump to do. The guts were 90% already gone, and mechanically this pump is more or less a piece of cake. Although I do see a broken knuckle or two on some of those pipe joints.
Of course it will be Sunoco. Even though after looking through over 400 vintage Sunoco pics I have, I didn't find one 39. Tall or short. But who cares.
Pump is very solid!! Makes it much easier!!
I have a sandblast shop near by and a body guy from a local Jaguar dealership that I'm hoping is going to do the paint and body work on the side. He's fixed my mom's car a time or two and has done a great job.
We'll see how it goes and I'll keep you updated.
Of course, the pumps name is, Melissa. Isn't she gorgeous??!!

Cool... They are a lot of fun to restore. Be careful the spinner blades in those are very fragile. good luck !!

Good for you Steve, it will be fun and in the end very rewarding. The spinners are plastic and that is typical as they deteriorate over time, can't tell you how many I've broken trying to clean.

What brand are you doing it in, hee hee.
