The story I heard was a guy bought an old house to rehab and these signs were shelves in the closets.
At one point I looked at his stack of money and it was at least 3" thick. The good old days.

God as my witness,I was just thinking about these 33 today.
Lucky contractors find behind a wall IIRC..
I believe he sold each one for near $1500 that day.
Drove off with like 50K in hand.

You are correct about the year. This is when the show was over in the overflow airport parking lot south of the Holiday Inn.

I remember 2008 well. I was training for a marathon, went for a long run only to see this sign for $2500 the blood was not quite flowing yet and I passed on the sign at first, walked ten feet before turning back around and it was already snatch edup. It was found the week before underground. The favorite picture of the year was a score on my bathroowpm. 4 roles of TP! New record for me in a bathroom. Wow.

I was there. It was nuts. They were marked number 1 2 3 1500. 2000. And 2500 if you bought 2 or more you could take off 10% so guys were budding up to get them cheaper. I would have bought one but earlier bought a conoco minute man sign.

It was interesting to watch that's for sure. I think that was my first or second year there and I could not believe the money being exchanged!!!

Thanks
Mike
