Hi, I just got this Shell rack last week. Can anyone tell me if the rack ever had a second set of legs so it would be free standing? I am pretty sure I can make something up but would like to know if it was more than just a wall mounted rack. Cheers, Don.

never seen one, so don't know for sure - but if it were a wall mount why does it have the stubs on the bottom where legs would of been attached- it sits too low too the ground as is.. ... cool

Nice cans , nice rack . Appears to me there were slant back legs attatched to allow the rack to set at an angle like most of that period.

Thanks guys, it was sold to me as a wall mount with a wire attached to the back but with the stub legs it makes sense to be a floor piece. Buzzy, good suggestion about slant back legs and having it angled back. That is the route that I will go with it. The early Shell cans I have had for a long time. I just recently pulled them out of an overcrowded showcase though the bigger ones will go somewhere else. Cheers, Don.
