I know we all collect different items besides petro. Would like to find a couple nickel lanterns. Here is a pic of a Coleman 242C.

When I lived in Mo. as a kid, we'd fill a qt jar w/ Fireflys & have all night lite w/o Re-filling the tank! NO Heat as when using White Gas.

I still have my dad's that he probably bought in 1943 when we moved out in the country. We used it whenever the power went out and for doing chores. Mitch

So... what price is a rare Coleman lantern fetching these days? Never thought they were collectible.

They have been collectible for years. Although most don't bring a lot of money. The one I showed a pic of is 30-50 bucks. Check out colemancollectorsforum.com

Are you buring "White Gas" in those? (Coleman Fuel)

That's selling for $13.00 a gallon here.
I use a Coleman that is about 20 years old. Before the dual fuel.
Think it's time to switch to propane, but saw they had Butane out now too.

Firefly's are out of season so not an option.

Just bought a may 1941 nickel base on Saturday. 228B. Yes I do burn coleman fuel. Propane, never.

Another one of my many weaknesses .... I have about 20 or so vintage Coleman's and some cool off brands too. Some really early and several 50's/60's NIB (still glued never even opened)not sure what to do with these as I really want to open and check them out.... lol

I also like the Benz0matic stuff ! I have several of the type pictured above by KZ1000, including 2 stoves and a heater. Don't know much about them but I like the look and they work great !

Im in the same boat too, last count was about 35 lanterns and about 10 stoves. Plus several "go withs" like funnels, hand pumps, cases wrenches.........etc etc etc
