It sorta looks like a old scifi robot looking at me!
I am always looking for anything Texaco or Oklahoma oil and gas company's, also I am a newbie at seeking globes.

Cool piece! My first guess was Graco out of Minneapolis, but not sure that's right? They were started by Russell and Leil Gray in 1926 as Gray Company, inc.
Don't see how the A.C. fits in with this though?
Also found a James A.C. Gray who was a technical illustrator for Bendix after WWII, but this item is way earlier than that.
Anyone???

A.C. Gray may have been the dealer?

Very possible, I was thinking more the lubrication company, but it would make more sense that the advertising would be for the dealer.

Anyone here notice the similarities between a Mile Stone gasoline pump and this dispenser ? ED Shaver ...that's the first thing that I thought: it sure looks like a Milestone...
Looking for better Gulf items: signs, globes, cans and paper - especially porcelain Gulf flanges, and Gulf A-38 & A-62 ad glass...

awesome piece of equipment, it appears to have a lot of brass fittings & gauges.. notice plug on the base, I'd imagine that would be alright as long as the water level didn't come up- picture must of been taken when it was put into service as I can't picture it looking this good for long- cool ..

One more thing, in all the old literature I have or have gone through, I have never seen anything that even approches this piece of equip;ment, GRAYCO or not.

If that were a dealer name on the globe (which I believe it is), you woulda thought the family would have kept it as a keepsake

Pennzoil hired the photographer to take the picture in June of 1931. It is a Graco Lube Rack.

I'm not Tim, but I can answer your Q's. Below are the order sheet for the photos and a close-up of the chassis gun reading GRACO...

Could "Hollyd" stand for "Hollywood"? Maybe in California or elsewhere?
Time to get out the old 1931 City Directory and check it out but unfortunatly I do not live anywhere near Hollywood, CA to do so.
