My great grandfathers 2 esso station he build this one with my grandfather from the ground up every brick ! Original one was in same place but was facing 180 degrees in other direction they replicated the main road so my great grandfather relocated the front of the garage to meet up with the new road. This picture from what my dad says is in 1948/49? He’s not 100 percent sure ! I Remember a little of the garage as a kid very little it was sold in 1980 as a Exxon station ! Unfortunately the building no longer exist 😩but thought I’d share the memory with you all .
Esso /Socony / gas pumps / quarts/ 2 gallon cans.family hobbie we love it !!! We have enjoyed this hobbie and the friends we’ve made .

A few shots of Pal's Diner when it was on State Route 17 south in Mahwah, NJ. Diner was transported to Michigan and reopened there. Always looking for other photos of Pal's, and especially photos of my dads Shell station which was across the road on northbound side.

All we have is a map ! That has the garage stamp on it ! A reciept my dad wrote in 1962 for a customers oil change I framed it and it’s at his house . My sister has a calendar from the 1960s that hung in garage and we have some of the esso tiger tea / coffee cups that were sold and given away at garage and the main piece I have in my closet is my grandfathers original service station jacket ! Witch wasn’t ever found until the 1990s when the house he use to live in was being remodeled and the contractor found it way back in a corner of a closet that was under a stairwell . He new who had to have it so he went to my dads house and told my dad I think this should be in your hands ! It had to of been in that closet over 25 years least in that house . ❤️

Pal's operated in Grand Rapids as a diner for years. A new owner changed the name to Dan's and changed the menu, then went out of business last year during the government shut down restrictions put on businesses. It was bought by and moved to the Harley dealer in Muskegon to be put on display. Unknown if it will ever be operated as a diner again.

ah ok. I was wondering if that might have been the diner on the grounds of the Gilmore Museum in Hickory Corners, Michigan.
