Here is another FANTISY sign. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=3642937380
Opening bid $175. I just emailed the bidder that it is a BOGOS sign.

That's alot of money for a $12 sign!
This sign is not a repro, its a fantasy piece. It never existed as an original.

Turns out the cost is up to 18 bucks now. Available from vendors on this site. This sign is a perfect example of why ALL repro's should be marked.

FOR A COUPLE OF YEARS NOW WHILE CRUISIN' EBAY'S GAS & OIL SIGN DEPT.
I'VE OFTEN WISHED THAT SOMEHOW EBAY WOULD BREAK APART IN SEPARATE SECTIONS THE REAL ORIGINAL COLLECTABLE SIGNS, THE FAKE REPRO REPOP FANTASY STUFF (WHICH IS ABOUT 80% OFF THE ENTIRE LIST), AND A SECTION FOR QUESTIONABLE SIGNS THAT MAYBE US "BUYERS" CAN ACCOUNT FOR AND MAKE UP OUR OWN MINDS!!!!
I JUST HATE LOOKING AT ALL THE REPRO B.S. WHEN ALL I WANT IS THE
REAL MCCOY!

T A G,
Ebay will not cut it's own throat.

By puting all repo sign in another catagory, nobody would be surf'n so they would not be selling, sellers would stop listing in that section and go back to where they are listed now.

I'll bet ebay makes more on listings than they do from commissions on sales.

No listings
No sales
NO EBAY
fewer informed sellers
LOWER PRICES

DICK - I WAS THINKING MORE LIKE HAVING ALL SIGNS LISTED IN ONE SEARCH AND THEN BEING ABLE TO
CLICK ON JUST ORIGINALS, REPROS, OR UNDETERMINED KINDA SIMILAR TO THE WAY THEY OFFER HIGHEST PRICED...LOWEST PRICED....CURRENT....AND ENDING TODAY FORMATS. JUST AN IDEA - BUT I GUESS I'LL JUST KEEP ON DREAMIN'!

Doc, have you looked at the "Porcelain Sign" eBay search on the Oldgas.com eBay Status page? It is an optimized search result that is configured to exclude most new and repro signs.
