Hello,
My friend from Finland has always good luck in finding the old stuff... Now he ask if I know the age of this Cities Service can. It is an export can so it may not be available in the US, but the logo is, I am sure...

I recognize the logo as “old” and would give a guess of the 30s, but better to ask the expert s

Thanks in advance!¨

Claes (and Toni who own the can)

Just because I collect this stuff doesn't mean that I know the answers! LOL

Most of these early cans were undated, so the only way to date them is thru literature, or knowledge of other cans that followed or predated them. From my experiences, I have always believed these yellow cans to be late 20's and into the 30's cans, but I'm not really sure?

Kevin is probably in the same boat as me... here's how I date the Cities items, I dont have proof - but here is what I have always 'thought':

Earliest (teens-20s) (rarest): White & Black cans
Earlier (20s-early 30s) (rare): Yellow & Black cans
Older (30s-40s) (more common): Dark Green & Black cans
Old (40s-60s) (most common): Green & white, red & white, gold & white, blue & white

Thank you Guys!
I fully understand that it cannot be dated more accurately than this, and I am sure my friend will be satified hearing it may be as old as late 20s ;-)

Thanks again!
Claes and Toni
