Neat sign, but......who bids from 9900 to over 70k? As Gilmore stated in the other thread, interesting bid history to say the least.

And he also has some breaking news!!!! I've never heard that John Deere and Caterpillar merged at one time. I guess they need to go rewrite some history books.

there is a lot of history between John Deere & CAT... they used to sell each others machines. I would imagine this was a sign for a dealer that did exactly that.

If you look deep into the history of both, you will learn about the agriculture patents Cat had and sold to John Deere (i think for like $1 or something weird), etc etc.

Lots of history between the two companies

Very true! And obviously a dealer could sell both companies equipment and I agree that's why this sign was made. However to say the 2 companies merged at one time, I believe that's a little more than a stretch. I've never heard anything close to these 2 companies merging.
