I would like to add a United Service Sign (Oval one) to my collection, but an leery of them. I want an original sign. I can't stand reproduction or fantasy signs. I have some questions for the experts:
1. Was the United Motor Service Sign Reproduced?
2. How can I identify a real one if so?
3. What sizes did it come in?
4. Was it originally made in to a neon sign?
5. What years were they made?
Thanks if advance.
Mike

Good one have " Walker Signs " at the bottom.. don't know if they all do but if it has it, I would think it's all good. I've had three of them in different sizes and they all had Walker

there is a repo neon one made 36" and is very good and difficult to tell from the original 36" one...best way to tell them apart is, original has extra holes in the face for bolting the internal structure angle iron to, the repos only have holes for the neon and tube supports......

I had 2 originals at one time, 1 had Walker, 1 did not, If you stick to finding one with Walker you should be OK. BUT there are fake dealership signs with the Walker name on them.

Thanks, Hen. I don't know if I could stand having to look at that sign. : ) Guess I'll survive with my non-lighted one.
