Well, I'm just going over Imageshack with their changes and starting to get the hang of it. Anyway, I have some pics of my new hotrod I picked up last fall. 28,000 original mile 1961 Buick Lesabre. Bought from the grandson of the original owner. These pics are from the day I went to look at it and bought it. I have done quite a bit of polishing and cleaning since and maintenance as it hadn't run in 30-plus years when I got it.

Ok, pics work. The car is real nice, has a 364 nailhead V-8, auto trans, and the air cond. was installed in 1965. I had to drop the fuel tank and get it cleaned and lined, and to a carb kit and she fired right up. Rebuilt the water pump and still have to change the u-joints and a few maintenance things. First time I had it out, went to a show and shine. I have chrome reverses ordered for it and putting radials on it and keeping the original wheels and tires to show it as original. She rides and drives like a dream. It's nice enough that I have it entered in the Draggins Rod and Custom car show Easter weekend. I will have my B/A collection on display with it. More pics and stories to come.
KEN.

Thanks Robert, yes it is clean and solid. Dick, your right, your not the only one who's told me that. That story made it all over the car community here in Saskatoon. The first thing that came off the car was the mudflaps off the front. We barely had it off the trailer when one of the guys that was at the shop grabbed a screwdriver and took them off.

Damn there is some crazy sheet metal on that car! The way that rocker spikes up between the front and rear doors and the way the quarter fits that rear bumper!! Beautiful actually!
And I love the rear visor!
Are those bullet points on the front bumper a secondary piece or is that all one piece of metal?
String up a net, and I swear a couple little people could play tennis on that rear decklid!!

Thanks everyone,Loyd, don't be sorry, "more doors" usually don't make for good hotrods, but she is a cool car, Steve, the front "dagmars" are separate in that they are attached. The body is similar to the '61 Biscayne I have, the roof lines are the same, that roof style is nicknamed "flat top".Your right Dick, those flaps did save it,although it's only got 28,000 on it the car spent it's life on a farm and back then in that area there weren't many paved roads, and amazingly enough, the mice never got into it. Cool thing is the history of the car as it has been in the family right up until I got it, the grampa bought it new when he was 76 years old, when he passed away in 1972, the son inherited it and only drove it for a little over 1,000 miles, the son passed away in '94 and the grandson inherited it and never really drove it, just kept it stored. He had no one to hand it down to and was starting to cut back on farming and getting ready to retire so he advertised it.
I have a copy of the original bill of sale when grampa bought it new, and other receipts as well, and lots of documentation to go with it.Also interesting is that they only made 35,005 of this bodystyle, which isn't rare but not that common.
Lots of room to haul cans and signs, just like finding a nice pump or sign, they are still out there.
Ken.
