...no date, and black T's?

Looking for better Gulf items: signs, globes, cans and paper - especially porcelain Gulf flanges, and Gulf A-38 & A-62 ad glass...

Grommets should be at 12, 3, 6 & 9 o'clock, not in the 4 corners. Also should be dated bottom right

I have been told grommets are both ways. In Rick Pease "A Tour with Texaco" they are in the corners. Dan Matthews book says 12,3,6,9. So I no idea.

Just for my own education and what I thought to be the truth on the holes being 12,3,6,9, what do you all say about what the OP saw in Rick Pease book?

Also, a couple of you jumped right on the black T thing. Did they not make these signs in the black T era??

I don't know what OP means.

In regard to an "Original" Texaco No Smoking Sign with the 4 holes/grommets two face logos on it, An original has the holes at 12,3,6,and 9 O'Clock, partially in the black border and white face. NO WHERE ELSE. They made a few of these with the black T. Most I've seen/owned were dated 1939. Because it doesn't have made in u.s.a. or dated doesn't mean it's fake. Different sign manufactures is my guess. The most easy fake out there spotted is where the holes are in the corners.
