A few days ago I posted that my calculator had some stuff on it that was hard as a rock and carbuerter cleaner would not touch it. Reminds me of sandpaper as one of you said.

A few of you told me to try Simple Green, PB Blaster and Oven Cleaner.

Well I tried the Simple Green first and after soking a few of the parts, 18 hours later they were clean as could be.

I will stay with Simple Green.

Thanks guys.

Steve, it always works for me and that's why I suggested it. It's biodegradable and easy to work with.

My experience with the two

Simple Green will break up a lot of crud and is bio-safe. However it won't always free up a stuck moving part.

PB Blaster will cut some crud out, and will un-stick just about any moving part. However, it is not safe to use on some plastics as it will literally eat and soften that if left too long to work.

Also, the cost differential is pretty high with SG being the cheaper alternative.

I work at CAT, simple green is what we use in the factories to clean parts so they are free of any contamination. Its good stuff, not to say there isnt better though

PB blaster in the shop where I work is called "Jesus in a bottle" because it gets any nut or bolt off. That's why I prefer it.

Hope no one is afended by the name.
