Haven't ever seen this sign before - Any info and a guesstimate on value would be nice.

Seen a few of those here in SC. Most of the time you see this part as the rest of it has little display value. I believe they were 4 panel signs and typically this portion takes forever to sell beyond $200. As of late I've seen guys cut this down in size and hang them on walls. Due to poor condition it falls into the barn/fence hanger range $60-100 if I was offering it up. Google search for Gulf Heat

That's what all the guys who've had it have said around here. The problem is the amount of whitespace on the sign even in good condition, so in bad condition it ends up being an even worse detractor. If you check out that google search you'll see what the full sign looks like, not nearly as impressive as looking at just the "Gulf" or Gulf Dealer in a 5-6ft sign frame.

What you posted is not really a sign just part of a sign. With it being cut up and the condition it's in I would value it at no more than $50. It is actually part of what I guess would be called a marquee sign where the dealer could add his own business name at the bottom of the sign. Here is a photo of the one that we have. Bobby

...Shorty, it's not been cut - it's actually part of a much larger version of your sign, that was sectional...'Heating Oils' would have been bolted on the right side, with a privilege panel on the bottom edge... ...and, now it's on eBay: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Porcelain-Gulf-solar-heat-sign-single-sided-gas-station-sign-/261272601105
Looking for better Gulf items: signs, globes, cans and paper - especially porcelain Gulf flanges, and Gulf A-38 & A-62 ad glass...

LOL,
Wonder what he'd ask on the 2 Shells I got this week.
In all seriousness has anyone ever seen a good version of that sign bring much above $200?

As gulfiend said - this sign hasnt been cut, it's a bolt-topgethor section of a different sign. It's also a cool looking good cheap sign for a beginner collector or a gulf collector barn hanger. You can make rude comments & laugh all you want, it's a solid cheap porcelain sign.
regardless. thanks for the opinions on it, exactly what I was looking for.
I bought the sign to hang on my barn, thought i'd see if it would sell first so I could get a better one, as many of us do, but havent seen it before.
I don't mind the trolls on here so much anymore, good for a laugh.

Ah, that's a totally different sign then. These are like 5.5' x 4.5' sections each, about twice the size of your sign when complete.
