Well...it is for sale. I posted this in the showcase forum with some restoration pictures of before and after a couple weeks ago. My intent was keeping it for myself, but the mustang in the background needs more work than originally intended- so this is up for sale.
All of the lettering is painted on, it is not a vinyl decal. This cabinet has been restored, using PPG single stage paint. I had the paint shop match the red before sandblasting the cabinet. The yellow was taken from the litho'd sides- I don't think it is exactly the factory color, but I think it is very close. The front is the original thick arched glass front, with original autolite tin litho vertical boxes adorning the mirrored center plug display. The mirrored backing is also original and does have small defects of the mirror finish flaking off and you can see it pictured. As a whole I would say 95% of the mirror backing is intact. The spark plugs are an assortment of Autolite plugs and all came from the boxes that are in the back of the cabinet. the boxes do come with the cabinet and have the empty single boxes that held the plugs in the front display.
Some of the white you may see on the panels (mainly the back panel door edges) is not missing paint, but wax buildup from buffing. I honestly didn't notice it till after the pic was taken. I will clean it before it arrives on your doorstep.
The brown cabinet does have some ripples in the tin back in the upper left corner. I figure a couple more Autolite boxes stacked and you would never notice.
Ask any questions you may have on the cabinet. It is a great restored piece...is it 100% perfect in every way? Nope, and I have listed the flaws that I see (I am very picky...very picky).
PM me any questions you may have- I accept paypal. Asking $1000 OBO
