Hillsville has been good for many years. I remember hearing tales about it back in the 80's when I was collecting coin op. Dave

I use to go to Hillsville and spend the weekend and had a great time. It has changed over the years for the worst. I stopped going for many years. I went last year for a few hours and enjoyed the yard sales along the way. I might go again this year for a day. I guess if you don't put out the effort you will never find anything. You never know.
I am just not enthused about it like I was 15 or so years ago.

I've heard that it has lost a lot it recent years. Got it from long time vendors who have stopped setting up there. Keep in mind, this is hearsay....but the vendor is a straight shooter. Paul www.severngaspumps.com

Well I went yesterday. Took my time stopping at yard sales along the way. Walked around the VFW lot from about 2 until 5:30. It was hot !!!!! Saw tons of repop and fantasy junk. There were a few dealers of good real gas and oil items. I bought several boxes of cookies ? Some matchbook covers and three small Esso items, 20 bucks worth.

Was it worth the six hours of driving and the dehydration?

Yes, Because I enjoyed the ride in the country with a good friend and I enjoyed visiting the dozen plus friends I ran into while there. I learned of some of the new repop, fantasy stuff that is now out there and I did see some neat things. Will I go again ?? Some time but not this weekend.

I only saw a small fraction of what is there.
Saw a Browser pump done up in Skychief. I thought using the Skychief ad panel to cover the light bulb on the face was a good idea that I would not of thought of. Any show is worth going too, just to get ideas from others. I now know what the calendar looks like that is missing from the Dutch Boy top that I have. Something to look for.

I will put out a few more pictures and put some under the repop section.

One vendor that sets up at many of the shows likes to age his stuff and then mixes a few real things in with all the fake. I wonder why ??? Good reason to ask questions and learn about what you collect. Go to the shows to see what is out there.

I did not buy them. I own one like the one to the far right and that is enough. They were priced from $850 on the left and I believe $950 each on the other two. The far right might have been $1000.
