A few years ago I noticed a sign that's been hanging by the ceiling inside a body shop that I have business dealings with from time to time. Every time that I'm there, I always ask if they'd sell the sign to me. Him and his partner recently were faced with a life changing event, which changed their outlook on life. Both now understood that the sign didn't provide them as much happiness as the sign would provide to me. So the last time I was there, the shop owner climbed up a ladder, unscrewed the sign and handed it to me. There are no words to describe my joy at that time.

The sign has been hanging inside the shop for several decades, if not more. It's been painted over a long time ago when the inside of the shop was painted. This is what preserved the sign so well. Today, I finally had a chance to clean it up and it turned out nice. The sign is in very nice shape with few minor chips on each corner and around a few of the mounting holes.

The sign is about 9 feet long and about a foot wide. I couldn't find a date on it. Can anyone help me date it?

This is now the best sign in my collection. I just have to find a good spot for it.

WOW-- looks like a homerun with that sign. If you really want to make that Citri-Strip work, put it on and cover it with cellophane. You will be amazed by the improved results. j

When I first noticed it while it was hanging up, I saw the paint flaking off from the letter areas. I could make out what it said. I thought to myself that I better get to the sign before someone else does.

Yes, I used Citri-Strip and it worked like a charm. I didn't even had to wax the sign after stripping the paint, but did it anyway.
