I don't want to state the obvious, but thought I would pass on this handy tip. I use swimming pool noodles to cushion and protect pumps when hauling. Ropes easily go through the middle, or I split them open lengthwise so a tie down strap will fit inside. At $1-2 apiece its hard to beat, and they work well as cushioning under or between items. My wife began doing this hauling antique furniture, but please don't let her know she had a great idea!

Great idea, never thought of that. I helped load a pump the other day and the people had a bunch of old sofa cushions!

I read a post about using a ladder to keep sight glasses off of the surface. What else has worked for all of you?

I have a half dozen rolled up pieces of carpet in different diameters. I just use the correct size for the job. I like the noodles idea to keep straps from scarring anything.

I use tires for visi's and 2X4's for sight glasses on electrics that extend out past the main body of the pump.
